Weight Loss Ideas in the Media

In this post I'm going to take a broad look at some of the weight loss ideas that are being bandied about by the media some of which are sound and others, well, not so much.

This leads me to say a word or two about how the media portrays many of the more established weight loss strategies.

stress and obesityHere are the cold hard facts about how this all works in today's fast and furious society.

Stress and Obesity

There's a load of stuff that we need to get above to avoid all the stress that in some way leads to obesity.

Stress hits us from a health standpoint from two main directions.

  1. Psychologically, it causes us to eat more comfort foods in a poorly thought out way to combat the stressful feeling.
  2. Physically, it raises levels of the stress hormone, cortisol which suppresses digestion and the immune system, leaving us wide open to infection as well as poorly digested comfort food we ate thanks to point number one.

Dealing with Weight

Here's a story about the excellent ideas that I'm going to share with you today. You probably don't really know all the best ways to lose weight just yet. It is best to be on the safe side.

What you want to do is concentrate on good health sooner rather than later. This has affected many thousands of people trying to lose weight over the years.

Anyway, it's something to think about. While you are looking for a difficult to obtain idea or action plan, look at sensible dieting that is less superficial about choosing processed foods and go mainly for natural ones instead.

Working from the Inside Out

Beneath the surface is where the true weight loss tips and secrets tend to lie.

What is an exciting development is that avoiding sugary, additive laden foods high in refined carbohydrates will help you not only shed some unwanted pounds but improve your overall health as well.

Do this the first chance you get and don't you wait until you already have to lose weight. This could be a potential health boost to incorporate into your daily diet, along with maintaining control of portion size and limiting the number of calories you consume.

Having more information than the big health sites is extremely valuable, especially when many mainstream media sites must conform to the mainstream narrative of what is and isn't good for our health. Sensible, convenient dieting is still the best way to good health, whatever else you're told.

Don't Believe All You See in the Media

Sometimes learning to ignore a lot of what the glossy magazines and TV ads are trying to ram down your throat about all their unnecessarily over the top weight loss ideas.

I prefer to go the healthy diet plus fitness and exercise route rather than rely on some fad diet that may actually end up damaging my health. I want to be really up front with you here.

While it may be OK to go with a commercial home delivery diet program like Nutrisystem or Jenny Craig for example, doing it yourself with home prepared and cooked meals is a far superior way to good health and a slim body.

Keep Your Own Counsel

There's no time like today to get started as tomorrow often never brings forth the same level of motivation to do something for yourself.

You have a lot of decisions to make and they're not always easy, but listening to your own mind is far better than listening to all the hype and lies the media is often trying to overload your brain with in order to sell you this or that latest product.

The Natural Route to Health

It may not always be best to use alternative remedies that are packaged for sale by companies for some things.

However, certainly, natural ways of doing things have their place in the grand scheme of things. I don't like jargon and prefer easy weight loss tips to anything that sounds difficult or complicated.

Conclusion

I've known many people who jump to conclusions but one man's loss is another man's gain. Please excuse this small self-indulgence on my part.

Working out for a slim and toned body that is healthy from the inside out is the way to go with this, love it or hate it.

So the long and the short of it really to be aware of what is being promoted by the media, but to try to read between the lines if you can to see if it is genuine or if someone is trying to lead you up the garden path!
